socorro▼
Solmar V’s Socorro season runs from November to May every year. The off-season is due to bad weather and hurricanes. Most notable dive sites include:
Roca Partida:
Considered one of the best dive sites in the world, this little islet attracts all sorts of large pelagic. Here you can spot hundreds of whitetip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, humpback whales (between February and March), whale sharks (between November and December), large schools of fish, and of course, the giant manta rays.
The Canyon:
Famous for having two shark cleaning stations, the Canyon is a perfect site for shark lovers. Here you can spot anything from silvertips, to hammerheads, to tiger sharks, and more. The Canyon is also a great spot for dolphin encounters.
The Boiler:
This is where the giant mantas come to get cleaned by the clarion angelfish. A beautiful dive site that almost guarantees incredible encounters with the Revillagigedo’s unusually social mantas.
Cabo Pearce:
Another manta cleaning station to encounter the social and friendly giants. Cabo Pearce is also a great spot to see a large number of silky sharks.
Punta Tosca:
Another incredible dive site in the Revillagigedo Islands where encounters with dolphins are most notable. Here you can also see giant mantas, various sharks, and sometimes even whales!

Most of our trips embark and disembark in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico (airport code SJD). It is about a 45 to 60 minute drive from the Marina in Cabo San Lucas. Most major U.S. airlines fly directly into this airport.
For the Sea of Cortez Unlimited itinerary, please check if you are embarking or disembarking in Puerto Peñasco. The nearest airport is Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), and we will help arrange for your transfer.
